PVOH (Polyvinyl Alcohol), also known as PVA or PVAl, is a synthetic polymer that is soluble in water. Its ideal formula is [CH₂CH(OH)]ₙ. It is used in the production of paper, textiles, and various coatings. It is colorless (white) and odorless. It is sometimes provided as beads or as a solution in water.
